Goal
To
improve community relationships with MACA divisions, other federal and GNWT departments and territorial non-government and aboriginal organizations.

Why do we want to build partnerships?
Increased partnerships will stimulate increased communications, promote the sharing of information, and result in the reduction of duplication of programs and services. Building partnerships also provides cost-shared and improved access to programs and services tha support community development.

How will this happen?
In partnership with community governments, government agencies and the volunteer sector, MACA proposes to design a coordinated system of volunteer development, promotion and recognition.

What will we do to develop partnerships?
  • Meet more with community governments, aboriginal and territorial organizations to discuss what we can achieve by working better together;
  • Develop improved communications with Metis and First Nation organizations to promote community development and improved access to programs and services;
  • Develop partnership approaches with federal and GNWT agencies in a range of initiatives that support improved collaboration in the delivery of community development programs and services; and
  • Invest in partnership projects.
What kind of short-term results do we want to achieve?
  • More trust from aboriginal and territorial organizations;
  • Reduced duplication of effort;
  • Cost-shared approaches;
  • A comprehensive and integrated system of support towards community development; and
  • Improved client value for the programs, advice and services MACA provides.
